Just a Pup

I’m extremely pleased to announce the release of our next EP, Just a Pup, on the new Manic Pop! label. It’ll be officially released on June 14th, though we will have copies for our show at NYC Popfest on May 31. You can order it on our Bandcamp page. Here’s the cover:

Here’s the track listing:

  1. Just a Pup
  2. Idaho, America in 2049
  3. We Don’t Have Any Cuts to Waste
  4. It’s Not Unusual (Featuring Liz Hunt)
We’ll be making a little intro trailer for the EP pretty soon, as well as sharing a track or two before its release, but in the meantime, here’s a few fun fact-y type things about the EP:
  • It’s got our sad/happiest song ever (“Just a Pup”).
  • It’s got our two most political songs ever (“Idaho, America in 2049″ and “We Don’t Have Any Cuts to Waste”)
  • Liz Hunt, from one of my favorite bands The School, guests on vocals for our cover of “It’s Not Unusual.” She does an amazing job of making this song her own, nearly snatching it entirely from her fellow countryman Tom Jones.
  • Danny Rowland, from metal band (not really) Seapony, does a gorgeous guitar solo on “Just a Pup.”
  • The title of “Idaho, America in 2049″ is based on a line in a Treepeople song. Boise reprazent!
That’s it for now! Stay tuned for more info and opportunities to hear some of what we’ve poured our hearts and souls into. I’m really proud of this release and can’t wait for you all to hear it.
